Surrey Sports Facility Design | total-play

Brief:
The client was initially looking to install a batting end in the garden of his family home – however, this developed to include a bowling and batting end with infill carpet – the entire system measuring just over 21m long by 3.65m wide.

TP Solution:
Having discussed requirements and options with the client, the result being to expand the development to a full practice system, total-play Ltd proposed a solution that included a two-tone Wilton woven carpet and green powder coated steel work with green nets to minimise the visual impact of the facility within the setting.

Once the specification was agreed, the challenge was to build the system in a back garden location – access was an issue and, due to the quality of the garden and its landscaping, great care was exercised to get equipment from the access to works area without creating a mess. Cut and fill earthworks were them completed to create suitable surface levels – not the easiest task within the confines of a domestic garden – before the bespoke system was installed. Works were completed without incident, and the owner is delighted with the finished result.

“We asked total-play to install a non-turf surface and net after searching hard on the Internet and also hearing of other nets that they had installed. We felt that they offered the most professional service and the greatest expertise. We found them to be very sympathetic to our needs during the sales process and site visit. The actual installation was quick and very professionally performed. The engineers that came were very friendly and performed a fantastic job in constructing some beautiful nets. We would definitely recommend total-play to other people.”
